Friday on Monday

Much to my surprise, a new addition arrived to share the attention of my son's family downstairs. And of course it will mean another pet to play with here at dog central. This little girl was born at the truck lot where my son's truck is dispatched. The yard dog there had a small litter and this is the runt. She's been to the vet today and is ready to come home. My son is calling her Friday but the rest of the family doesn't like the name. We'll see..... He just brought home her first toy. She seems to like shoes a lot. LOL

A day of sunshine

Monday, March 28th. The sun is shining. At last! Purple lilacs are blooming, white opes are opening, and the first poppy bloomed today. It has been trying to open for the last week, but refuses to open unless the sun shines on it. One lone poppy. There will be more to follow in a few days if the sun stays shining. Here's my tribute to poppies.

Spring storms

We have had days and days of rain, blustery winds, etc. That's down here in the valley. Up in Calaveras County the snow level dropped to 2,000 feet. The web cam went down a couple days ago, and here's how it looked before it stopped working. I can't imagine how much snow there must be by now. Did someone say it's Spring?

The snow is almost gone now at Timber Trails. Warmer rains helped melt it and wash it away. Here's how it looks today on the web cam.

Pansies in the spring

We are due another rain storm tonite so I picked pansies to press before they get beaten up by weather. Here they are in the little poetry book where they will be flattened out for future art work.

Tootling around with friends.

spending an afternoon of leisurely country driving was such a pleasure last Sunday afternoon. Sun was out, mustard fields in bloom, some trees blossoming, and good company. Here are a couple pics. Jean is carrying back her treasure to the car, and Francis is on the prowl for something special.
