As I have limited tools in kitchen and dull knives --- I figured out I could do this with veg peeler. I love bermuda onions but prefer them in small doses.

Company coming.
Four art friends from long ago are coming to lunch tomorrow. It was fun shopping for colorful foods for them. . I called my fav nursey to ask them to pick fresh strawberries. Soooo fresh. I bought tomatoes at the nursery too. They had already picked them this am. I started a loaf of herb bread before I left and by the time I got home it was rising and ready to bake. Its going to be a pretty healthy lunch.

Meet Bruss
I cut open a bag of Trader Joes brussel sprouts and poured them into a steamer. When I checked on them, turning them over - I noticed this odd little sprout. Honestly I did not do anthing to change it. This is a pic. I could not resist taking the photo. Then I put Mr Sprout back in the steamer.

Plein air painters at the nursery
A favorite nursery dating way back in time is up and running again. At least once a month they host an event. Specialy coffees. Fresh produce. Gardening worksops. Book signings. Yesterday the had live music and plein air painters. Jean and I went together. Several of the painters wete students of hers in the past. It was lovely. I bought 4 new succulents that Im unfamiliar with. When I got home I ordered a couple books on growing succulents so I can increase my collection. Might even get to know their names. I love to propogate pkants to share with friends.
