I am working on a series of watercolor studies based on the work of Australuan artist Colley Whisson in his book Creating Impressionist Landscapes in Oil. Its been on my shelf for quite awhile but since I dont work in oils I paid it little attention. However once I took time to look through it and admire the wonderful colors in his landscapes - I could see that I might be able to translate variations on his scenes in water color. I whole heartedly recommend his book. If I wanted to paint in oils its the first book I'd select for landscape work.
This painting is based on his Gums by the Murray River.
